DEATH: Donald Clarence died just prior to midnight on Wednesday - May 20,1992 after suffering a massive heart attack while in the recovery ward atGold Coast Hospital, Southport QLD following a hip replacement operationthe previous day.
BURIAL: Donald Clarence was cremated after a short service at the funeraldirectors' premises in Burleigh Waters QLD on May 28, 1992.
Apart from a few local friends, the service was attended by his son,daughter-in-law (Shirley Vera), Steve Pailthorpe (from Patonga Beach),son-in-law (John Hollowood from Melbourne) and Des Larkin (cousin fromBrisbane).
Rod and Shirley returned to the Gold Coast in June to collect the ashesand pursuant to Donald Clarence' wishes these were then emptied intoCurrumbin Creek (for the most part). During this operation a gust of windcaught a small percentage and blew them back onto Rod who then had to,literally, wash his hands of his father.
Miss Emma Lillian JEFFERY [Parents] [scrapbook] was born on 21 Feb 1921 in Mookerawa NSW. She died on 7 Oct 1979 in Parramatta District Hospital, Parramatta NSW. The cause of death was Coronary Occlusion.. She was buried on 11 Oct 1979 in Northern Suburbs Crematorium, Lane Cove (Sydney), NSW. She married Mr. Donald Clarence JEFFERY on 31 Oct 1950 in Registry Office, Bondi NSW. the marriage ended with the spouse/partner's death onon 7 Oct 1979 at Parramatta District Hospital, Parramatta NSW.
DEATH: On the evening of Saturday, October 6, 1979 while lying in bedjust prior to midnight Emma Lilian started to have what at first appearedto be a coughing fit. However, it quickly became apparent that there wasmore to it than that and her son, Rodney, ran to the phone and rang foran ambulance which arrived some ten minutes later form ParramattaHospital.
She was given oxygen on the spot and then transported to the hospitalwhere a short time later, approximately 2.00am - Sunday, October 7, 1979she was declared dead.
Rodney and his father, her husband Donald Clarence, were present in thewaiting room at the time of death and Rodney was required to give aformal identification of the deceased.BURIAL: After giving time for family members to attend from elsewhere inNew South Wales, a service was held in the chapel at Northern SuburbsCrematorium, Lane Cove NSW and the ashes were later interred in a brickedifice within the grounds.
