According to Leslie Uebel's CD-ROM 'Convict Anthology', John JEFFERY(listed variously as John JEFFERY & John JEFFREY) was transported as aconvict onboard 'ASIA 1' (out of London) sailing on November 23, 1827 arriving in Port Jackson on March 13, 1828 after being charged at LEWES(England) in 1825. He is shown as being 14 at the time of indent whichwould indicate that he was around 11 at the time of his trial and therefore born around 1814/1815.
He was transported to the NSW Colony for a term of life for a 'break andenter' which took place in 1823 while he was an errand boy.
He was granted a Ticket of Leave in 1848 at age 33 to marry 'native'Australian, Ann WILLIAMS at Wellington NSW.
